Since 2015, Strava Craft Coffee has been committed to perfecting the art of coffee roasting. We prioritize health and wellness and have dedicated years to perfecting the infusion of organic hemp oil into our specialty coffee beans. By combining the energizing effects of coffee with the calming benefits of CBD, we have created a smooth and well-balanced taste that distinguishes our coffees from others. As pioneers in CBD-infused coffee, we are always seeking ways to innovate and offer our customers the most delicious and healthful cup of coffee possible.

COFFEE SOURCING

Our morning routine at Strava involves waking up early to enjoy a delicious cup of 100% Arabica specialty coffee made with the finest beans available. We source our beans directly from high-altitude farms along the Equator, where the warm tropical climate is perfect for growing coffee trees. We're committed to using non-GMO, sustainable beans that are ethically sourced through direct trade practices. By working closely with small-scale farmers, we ensure that our beans are of the highest quality while also supporting local communities. Our green coffee beans are then sampled to meet our high-quality standards before being roasted in small batches to bring out the unique flavor notes. At Strava, we're dedicated to this process and believe it sets our coffee apart from the rest.

ROASTING

At Strava, we believe that our roasters are true artists. They bring out the best qualities of every green coffee bean by skillfully balancing both the scientific and artistic aspects of roasting. The flavor of coffee beans can vary significantly based on their origin and our roasters take great pride in their expertise in blending aromas, acidity, body, and tasting notes together. This ensures that every cup of coffee is smooth and well-rounded in taste.

INFUSION

We take pride in our commitment to offer our valued customers nothing but the best quality products. In our pursuit of the finest quality, we use only premium, organic American broad-spectrum hemp oil when crafting our coffee blends. Our unique and proprietary InBalanceTM method is a carefully honed process that allows us to infuse the oil into our beans with precision and care, ensuring that every cup of coffee that we serve boasts a consistent taste and efficacy. Our rigorous process has been refined over time, resulting in a delicious product that is also rich in the numerous benefits of CBD.

Sträva Gold is a belief, a commitment, and a promise; it signifies 7 attributes of purpose, quality and transparency that we embrace and ensure are delivered in every product that bears the Sträva mark.

Quality

Sträva works with premium, specialty grade coffee beans, fresh seasonal crops and organically grown Colorado hemp extracts. The hemp extracts we use are handled under the supervision of the Colorado Dept of Health & Environment in our FDA registered facility.  We follow established good manufacturing practices (GMP) throughout the product life cycle to ensure our CBD coffee products are always the best they can be.

Craftsmanship

Sträva ensures every product is produced according  to the highest standards by employing small-batch manufacturing methods.  Our team of roasters conduct regular cuppings to assess their work and adjust their techniques - coffee beans develop differently depending on their moisture content, density and size consistency. All of these factors are taken into account to ensure that we bring out the best in every bean and deliver a consistently exceptional cup of coffee.

Transparency

The specialty coffee industry has well established practices to ensure transparency. Bearing these standards in mind, Sträva's team employs a partnered direct trade approach to ensure we know where, and from whom, we're sourcing our coffee.  All of our CBD infused coffees start with specialty grade beans from the Jericó region of Colombia. Sträva's CBD is carefully sourced from within the United States. While we don't grow hemp ourselves, we partner with suppliers who can provide organic product and full documentation from farm to intermediate product.  Furthermore we verify that all of our broad-spectrum hemp distillate meets our standards by performing third party testing for cannabinoid content, terpene profile, and a full panel of tests checking for pesticides, heavy metals, solvents and other contaminants to ensure we're delivering only the highest quality products to our customers.

Ethical Sourcing

With all global commodities, there is an opportunity for brands to go above and beyond to ensure that the people and communities which supply their goods are treated in an ethical manner and that environmental concerns are mitigated as well.  Sträva's sourcing practices embrace this opportunity; we and our sourcing partners get to know the people who grow our coffee and ensure that they are paid fairly for their crops. We also ensure that the communities that produce our coffees receive additional benefits from partnering with Sträva, such as investment in infrastructure and education. These investments are intended not only to help the receiving parties deliver higher quality coffee in the future, but also to further improve their economic opportunities in general.  As we extend our sourcing philosophy to hemp and CBD, we choose to work closer to home - Sträva purchases CBD exclusively from within the United States where sufficient controls and oversight exist to know that we're working in a conscious and ethical manner. Furthermore, we exclusively purchase extracts from organically grown hemp. This not only ensures a healthier product for our customers, but also a lower impact on the environment.  

Efficacy

Everyone responds to cannabinoids differently, but it is well established that broad and full spectrum profiles work better than CBD isolates.  Known as the entourage effect, nature's formulation of principal and minor cannabinoids works to deliver the most benefit. At Sträva we embrace a broad spectrum hemp distillate with zero THC, but high concentrations of CBD and elevated minor cannabinoids such as Cannabichromene (CBC) and Cannabigerol (CBG).  We believe that this delivers a highly effective product without triggering concerns over the psychoactive effects of  THC. Lastly, we choose to avoid the marketing hype employed by some CBD product companies - we don't falsely claim use of advanced nano technology or portray our products as "5x or 10x more powerful;"  science just doesn't support these claims. Sträva proudly delivers naturally effective products without the hype. 

Innovation

Since bringing the first CBD infused coffee to the market in 2016, Sträva has embraced innovation as one of the  core tenets of the company. The team is constantly working to improve our products, primarily by sourcing the best available ingredients and improving upon our craft.  The team further embraces opportunities to innovate around product formats to ensure we're best meeting customer needs. Lastly, while our current focus is on hemp infusions, the Sträva team is keeping an open mind about other natural substances with medical promise - one such substance is psilocybin, the active compound found in magic mushrooms.  While a product containing psilocybin may be years away, we believe it's worth keeping an open mind about.  You can learn more about Sträva's interest in psilocybin in this news segment from 9 News Denver titled "Denver roaster considers adding magic mushrooms to coffee."

Safety

Sträva operates in an FDA registered facility and is licensed and routinely inspected by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.  We're fortunate to operate in Colorado where the state government is supportive of hemp businesses and works as a partner to ensure we not only operate safely, but that we deliver safe products to our customers.  From following good manufacturing practices (GMPs), including full traceability in our manufacturing process, to securing third party lab testing of all our products, customers can have confidence that they are receiving high quality and safe products from Sträva.
