Product FAQ's

1

Isolate vs Distillate

CBD isolate is pure cannabidiol in its rawest form. Chemists utilize a process called convergence chromatography to separate CBD from raw hemp oil extract. This process is repeated until the cannabidiol is isolated in its most pure form – a fine white crystalline powder made up of 99.9% pure CBD. A Distillate Oil is the process one step before isolation. A distillate is an amber liquid and typically has other compounds and cannabinoids but is less potent in CBD. When trying to pinpoint formulas or get nothing but Pure CBD, Isolates are the preferred method.

How Much CBD Should I Take?

If you are using a tincture: Begin with the recommended serving size of one full dropper and adjust as needed. Everyone is different, and the amount of CBD you need depends on a combination of factors.

If you are using CBD isolate: If you are unsure about how much CBD, CBN, or CBG isolate to take, we recommend starting with roughly 25mg and adjusting your dose as needed. We provide a serving spoon with each isolate order. This serving spoon can hold 50 to 80mg of isolate. So, 25mg of isolate equates to roughly half a serving spoon. If you prefer a more exact dose, a digital cooking scale is the best tool to weigh your isolate with.

If you are using Softgels: Begin with one capsule a day and adjust as needed. Each capsule contains 25mg of CBD, so you may want to begin with more depending on your purpose or previous experience.

The most important thing to remember is that consistency is the key. No matter what CBD you use, taking it consistently is the only way to ensure that your body utilizes each dose effectively. If you have never used CBD before or use it irregularly, you may need five to ten days of regular use before you begin to notice the benefits of CBD.

Please note: we recommend taking your CBD on a full stomach. Like other supplements, using CBD on an empty stomach may result in minor side effects.

What Is CBD?

CBD, which is short for Cannabidiol, is one of the 85+ naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD has an effect on such a wide range of conditions because of its interaction with the endocannabinoid system (ECS for short). The ECS is a central regulatory system made up of millions of cannabinoid receptors that are found throughout the body.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD interacts with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is a central regulatory system made up of millions of cannabinoid receptors that are found throughout the body. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors – CB1 and CB2. The main difference between the two is that CB1 receptors are more prominent in the brain and nervous system while CB2 receptors tend to be found throughout the immune system and gastrointestinal system. CB2 receptors are also found in the brain but in lesser density than the CB1 receptors. When cannabinoids are introduced to your system, they interact with these receptors causing the wide-range of effects that have been noted in testimonials and research. CBD specifically interacts with the CB2 receptors which is why it is so often attributed to immune and inflammation benefits.

CBD’s wide range of effects without a psychoactive component can be explained by understanding the CB2 receptors. When CBD interacts with CB2 receptors, it is working with the body’s internal functions to help regulate them back to homeostasis (an optimally balanced point). The regulation of homeostasis is what has such a beneficial impact on inflammation (which is responsible for a shocking spread of adverse health effects), and immune functions.

What Is The Difference Between Hemp And Marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are both parts of the cannabis family. Still, there is one critical difference between the two: THC or lack thereof. By definition, hemp can not have more than 0.3% THC. Anything over this amount is considered marijuana. This is why hemp is viewed as the non-intoxicating cousin of marijuana. While THC has medicinal properties just like CBD, it also happens to be the cannabinoid primarily responsible for intoxication. Despite only needing to clear a threshold of 0.3% THC, marijuana often has 15%+ THC. So, although these plants may look similar, there is quite a noticeable difference between the two. At Bloom, all of the CBD in our products is hemp-derived, so you can be confident knowing that none of our products contain more than 0.3% THC.
