What Is Delta-9 THC?

Delta-9 THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the cannabis compound that is generally associated with the psychotropic effects of marijuana (it’s the cannabinoid that gets you high). Delta-9 THC should not be confused with delta-8 or delta-10 THC, which are considered minor cannabinoids (meaning there are only the tiniest traces of them in cannabis). Delta-8 and delta-10 THC have somewhat different effects than the major cannabinoid, delta-9 THC.

While delta-9 THC can definitely get you high if you take it in large enough amounts, it also has several wellness benefits. All of these products are compliant with the 2018 US Farm Bill and are below the legal threshold of 0.3% THC.

Magic Melon Delta-9 THC Gummies are, by definition, edibles. This means the CBD and delta-9 THC in your gummy are absorbed into the bloodstream through your digestive system. And so, the absorption of your THC edible takes longer than a CBD or THC sublingual oil or vape product. Depending on bioavailability factors (such as weight, height, metabolism, body mass, and CBD/THC tolerance), it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to feel the effects of your Magic Melon THC gummy. 

On the plus side, THC edibles stay in your bloodstream much longer than vapes and other forms of CBD or THC products. You can potentially feel the effects of a THC gummy for up to eight hours, again depending on bioavailability factors and the strength of your delta-9 THC product.

Yes! Microdosing allows you to take advantage of the calming wellness benefits of CBD and delta-9 THC, but without overdoing it. As with all cannabinoid products, start small: cut your Magic Melon gummy into fourths and take one every morning. If you want to add to that, take another ¼ gummy in the evening. If you feel like that amount still isn’t working for you, you can bump up the morning serving to ½ gummy, and so forth. The key to microdosing THC is to find the serving that works best for you!

In large enough amounts, delta-9 THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) will produce psychotropic effects, meaning that it can get you high. None of our hemp-derived THC products are formulated for that purpose, though. All of our CBD and THC products — including our Magic Melon Sativa Delta-9 THC Gummies — are formulated for wellness and fall within the US legal limit of less than 0.3% THC.
